Happy Fall Everyone!!! :) Ahh, this is one of my favorite seasons. With all of the leaves changing colors, football is back (BOILER UP!), the weather is perfect (on most days), school is back in session and there are a lot of things going on in the community! The AmeriCorps GrowIndiana program through Ivy Tech Community College is recruiting math tutors for 7th & 8th grade students. Must be proficient in basic algebra and a background check will be conducted. Hours of tutoring are between 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
Lafayette Urban Ministry is in need of volunteer case managers to help our shelter guests become self sufficient. Volunteers would follow up on goals set by the guests and myself. Volunteers are needed from 10:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Volunteers do not need to be available all day. Just a few hours a week and become volunteer on a regular weekly schedule.
Volunteers are needed for the CRYPT of TERROR Haunted House on Oct. 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24 & Oct 30 from 6pm-11pm each day. They are in need of role players, ticket takers, escorts etc.
American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 2nd Annual 5K Walk is looking for volunteers to help us before, during and after the event. Date: Saturday October 10 2009 at Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) from 9:00am to 1:00.
Wabash Center is seeking volunteers for its newest division, Tippecanoe Adult Guardianship Services, which provides assistance to incapacitated adults who need someone to assist them accessing care and social services. Training begins Monday, October 19, from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, and continues every Monday & Wednesday for five weeks.
Volunteers are needed for setting up and making props, for a Haunted House called the “Crypt of Terror.” Adults are needed to help every Friday from 9/11/09 thru 10/09/09 during the day. Homestead Consulting Services and Jefferson High School Choral Department are partnering together to host a Haunted House at Market Square in the old Stein Mart building. Even if you can only volunteer part of a day or several days it would be much appreciated. No skills are necessary.
