New Opportunities and NEW WEBSITE!

For the past few months we have been working very hard on getting our information updated. So I am very excited to be able to post this....our new website is up and running! Please check it out:

Volunteers are needed to help out with the Family Fun Event, sponsored by Tippecanoe County Child Abuse Prevention. The Family Fun Event provides fun activities for Lafayette families and promote awareness about Child Abuse and Prevention. It will take place on April 22nd from 4pm- 9pm at Snapperz.

Volunteers are needed on April 24th to help with Arbor Day events for Tree Lafayette. Volunteers will meet at the Menards on Creasy Lane in Lafayette at 9:00 am.

Lafayette Transitional Housing is looking for a Volunteer Volunteer Coordinator (VVC). The VVC will be responsible for generating community involvement and support for the mission and programs of LTHC.

Food Finders Food Bank is in need of many volunteers. They need volunteers for the Letter Carrier’s Food Drive event on Saturday, May 8th. Volunteers are needed to help during 2 shifts either from 12-3 or 3-6 at both the Lafayette (26) post office as well as at the WL Federated Church. Also, they need a couple of long-term volunteers to pick up baked goods (donations) for them on Monday mornings at the WL Payless and Chipotle and on Thursday mornings at the Beck Lane Payless.

The Wildcat Creek Wildlife Center in Delphi, Ind. is looking for volunteers who can give 4 hours a week to help with the following: baby feeders, animal care, maintenance, cage building and repair, clerical, rescue, data entry, phones, or grant writing. Therapeion is in need of adult volunteer mentors that are available during the day. Training is provided and the work is rewarding. Therapeion offers equine assisted programs for children with disabilities, youth at risk, children who have been abused and neglected, and children dealing with mental health issue.

Westminster Village is currently seeking volunteers interested in escorting residents to and from activities at Westminster Village. Volunteers will also engage and participate in the activity with the resident. Opportunities are available daily and include a wide range of activities.

Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs is seeking volunteers for their “Sunshine & Smiles” Program where mothers/fathers & their pre-school age (or younger) children visit a nursing facility typically once monthly to interact with the residents. Visits last one hour & may include playing with toys and games, reading, singing or doing a craft.

Serenity Hospice is searching for volunteers to be a companion to their patients, relieving the family members for a couple of hours. Volunteers will ease their cares and enjoy visiting with someone who may change your life while you are making a heart print on theirs.

Volunteers are needed to help plant and weed the Three Sisters Garden for the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. Volunteers are needed from May to August as needed. This garden is used as a demonstration garden in the educational programs at the park.
